Doodle team page

During last summer, Carole designed our new team page. One of its features was inspired by the follomaton pioneered by the guys at viens-la.com in 2012. Her design was a very welcome overhaul of our current static team page with microscopic pictures.

Sadly she didn’t think about how the follomaton would play out on touch devices. The fact that at my job(s) people tend to forget about mobile/tablet web frustrates me a bit – maybe more than it should. Anyways. Michael asked if it was possible to detect the device’s orientation in a browser. I gave it a try and came up with this:

I had a lot of fun coding this useless little feature, and I think you might enjoy trying it too[1]: doodle.com/about-doodle/team

Oh and I could bring my S&M bike to the team photoshoot! Yes, there is a BMX-ing software engineer working at Doodle ;)

  1. it works for sure on recent desktop browsers, on iOS 7 & 8, probably on Android 4.4. For the rest, tough luck. ↩︎
