quintessential Manu

The other day, I not-ran into one of my work colleagues. We walked passed each other, none of us reacted. We both turned around, looked at each other, but still said nothing. In her defense, I was wearing sunglasses. In my defense, I wasn’t wearing contacts, and she definitely did not look couple-of-days-before-giving-birth months pregnant (even not pregnant at all)

The train episode: we work at a fully remote company and have this daily sync meeting where we quickly mention what we’re working on. One day, before the meeting, Alysa wrote in the chat that she would not attend because she would be on a train to Bern at the time of the meeting to get her passport from the embassy. I realized that she might be on the same train as me, so I private-messaged her. When we arrived in Bern, I realized she was sitting right in front of me (back to back seats; obviously not facing each other). I didn’t see her, but she did see me, and just chose to ignore me. We’re an awkward bunch, I guess :)
