After seeing the Earth puzzle by Nervous System on the one and only kottke.org, I had to buy it.
And it is awesome!
When I opened the box and saw the shapes of the puzzle pieces, I was afraid it would take forever. In the end I spent about 15 hours over a bit more than a week. I started with the little animals because they have a shape distinct from the other ones. Then I sorted by color: white, brown, light brown, orange brown, green, dark blue, light blue, blues with white, blues with shores, etc. The hardest part was towards the end. Because the puzzle can fold on itself in several places, you have to constantly check for fitting shapes at the other side of the “globe” to know where pieces are missing. I have succeeded in keeping myself from looking at pictures of the puzzle, or the Earth, during the whole process.
